Biography
One of the most successful British writing and producing teams of the late '80s, the Beatmasters were Richard Walmsley, Amanda Glanfield and Paul Carter, the latter pair both veterans of the commercial jingle industry. Most famous for their work with Betty Boo, for whom they helmed the smash "Hey DJ, I Can't Dance (To the Music You're Playing)," the Beatmasters also crafted Top 20 hits in tandem with the Cookie Crew ("Rok Da House"), Yazz ("Stand Up for Your Love Rights"), Merlin MC ("Who's in the House") and P.P. Arnold ("Burn It Up"). Additionally, the trio also issued a pair of LPs, 1989's Anywayawanna and 1991's Life and Soul. They later produced and remixed material for Erasure, Pet Shop Boys and Marc Almond. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
