Wadsworth was born in Georgia but spent much of his life in Detroit, where he grew up absorbing music of all genres, including metal, hip-hop, and especially dance music. He started producing and DJ'ing as a teenager, and released material under the name Etal before he turned 20. By 2008, he had released several records on labels like Morris/Audio and Hypercolour, and had earned support from DJs such as Josh Wink and Laurent Garnier. Releases continued, as Wadsworth began playing DJ gigs overseas, gradually playing at major techno clubs such as Tresor and Fabric. His Detroit-repping single "It's Time" was released by Get Physical Music in 2011, and quickly became a club hit. Wadsworth's debut album, Life and Death, was released by the label the following year, and he appeared on the cover of DJ Mag in addition to receiving coverage from Mixmag and even Vibe. He moved to Berlin, formed two labels (Uranus and Breed), and recorded his second full-length, Popularity, which was released by Hypercolour in 2014. Edgar's Ultramajic label released Wadsworth's Infiltrator in 2016, and Cali EP followed on Odd Even in 2017. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
