Pee Wee Fist
Biography
The Boston sextet the Pee Wee Fist consists of singer/guitarist Pete Fitzpatrick, accordionist Michael McLaughlin, drummer Andrew Plaisted, guitarist Moses Carr, bassist Anna Johansson, and thereminist Jon Bernhardt. Although Fitzpatrick had been playing under the name Pee Wee Fist for a few years prior with different lineups, it was the aforementioned six-piece setup that worked the best, and has been in place since 1998. (Fitzpatrick claims he chose the band's name from a "Hong Kong martial arts film starring a three-foot-high ninja.") The band has issued several cassettes through the years, and on their third anniversary as a band together, they issued their self-produced CD debut, Breathing Apparatus, receiving substantial airplay on local radio station WFNX. 2001 saw the release of their sophomore effort, Flying, issued on Kimchee records. ~ Greg Prato, Rovi
