Biography
Castiglioni studied at the Milan Conservatory and attended graduate courses at the Salzburg Mozarteum. He taught for several years in the USA but illness forced his return to Italy in 1969, slowing his compositional output. His compositions are fused with an intellectualism and develop from a late-Romantic style through Webernian serialism to polished ornamental pieces. He composed instrumental and vocal pieces, including the opera Oberon (1980). ~ Lynn Vought, Rovi
