Biography
Surely the owners of one of the most bizarre handles in all of rock, the Lord Weird Slough Feg take their name from a comic character inspired by ancient Celtic mythology, and was formed in mid-'90s San Francisco by vocalist/guitarist Mike Scalzi. Inspired by original heavy metal icons like Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Queen (?), the band is known for their often theatrical performances. Drummer Greg Haa has also been a constant throughout the band's career, but bassists have come and gone with virtually every Slough Feg release, which began with 1996's eponymous debut, and continued with 1999's Twilight of the Idols, and 2000's Down Among the Deadmen -- the latter also featuring newly arrived second guitarist John Cobbett. 2002 saw the European re-release of their debut with bonus tracks, and 2003 marked the arrival of the Lord Weird Slough Feg's fourth album, Traveller, introducing new bassist Adrian Maestas. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
