Wordy and rapid like a battle MC, rapper JGivens was born Jeremiah Timothy Givens in Los Angeles, California. Too much gang violence drove his family to move to Las Vegas, another "Sin City" where Givens encountered drugs and other vices. Looking to keep on the straight and narrow, and after he graduated from the University of Southern California, he chucked his mechanical engineering degree and turned to hip-hop for outreach. He released his debut album, Run, in 2011, and two years later returned with his sophomore effort, El v. Envy.
