Biography
Constituted in Philadelphia, PA, in 1996, punk rockers Ink Dagger counted from the beginning of their operations with a lineup consisting of vocalist Sean McCabe, also responsible for writing most of the band's songs, Don Devore (guitars, programming), Joshua Brown (bass), and Ryan McLaughlin (drums). Displaying their firing tunes of hardcore blended with punk, Ink Dagger's first live shows immediately grabbed the attention of a widespread fan legion within Philadelphia's underground music scene, which proved to be thrilling enough for the band to record its first record. Love Is Dead, Dagger's debut EP, offered through the Happy Days record label, supported even more the band's on-growing credit amid the alternative rock arena. The band then decided it was time to defending its tunes on the road and entered a full U.S. and Canadian tour that went through most of 1997. Still in 1997, the group recorded its first major studio effort, Drive This Seven Inch Wooden Stake Through My Philadelphia Heart, which eventually attained considerable recognition and enthusiastic reviews from the media. In the following year, the Philly team entered the studio again to prepare its second album, The Fine Art of Original Sin. In 1999, following yet another extensive touring season that included several shows in Europe, Dagger offered Ink Dagger. ~ Mario Mesquita Borges, Rovi
