Biography
Her brash, rebellious, introspective music can appeal to many different audiences, but teens are the target audience of Sarah Hudson's guitar-driven angst-pop. The teens might be hip to her cousin -- actress Kate Hudson -- but the teens' parents are probably just as familiar with her father, the Hudson Brothers' Mark Hudson. Growing up in Bel Air, CA, with a purple Mohawk meant Hudson was always an outcast. Out of high school Hudson wrote a ton of songs and eventually landed a record deal with S-Curve/EMI in 2004. Her career was given a kick-start when the PBS news program #Frontline featured the singer and her father talking about the ups and mostly downs of the music business on the "The Way the Music Died" episode. A month later her debut, Naked Truth, hit the streets and Hudson toured the country on the Rock the Vote Bus Tour. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
