Biography
Not a producer in the traditional sense, studio whiz Bob Porter was instead responsible for reintroducing jazz and R&B history to contemporary audiences, remastering classic recordings to fit the exacting standards of modern listeners accustomed to the clarity and punch of digital technology. Typically working in conjunction with Atlantic Records, Porter mined the label's rich history to remaster classic recordings from Duke Ellington, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Ray Charles and Richard Groove Holmes. The result of his painstaking efforts is the restoration of much of the 20th century's most indelible music, now preserved for future generations and sounding better than ever before. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi
