Eux Autres
Biography
Eux Autres are a brother-sister duo, based in Portland, OR, and comprised of Heather and Nicholas Larimer, whose wry, summery, irrepressibly fun indie pop songs nod to Saturday Looks Good to Me and the Brunettes. Their debut EP, a three-track affair, largely in French, called Partick Nil, was released on their homemade label, Bons Mots Music, in 2003, and they followed it up with a Christmas single, Another Christmas at Home, before the year was out. The duo's debut full-length, Hell Is Eux Autres, co-recorded by ex-Sleater-Kinney drummer Janet Weiss, emerged the following year, and went on to be re-released on Montreal's Grenadine Records in 2006. Boosted by the positive reviews of that album, Eux Autres were picked up by the Athens-based label Happy Happy Birthday to Me for their second full-length, Cold City, which hit stores in 2007. In 2008, the duo added drummer Yoshi Nakamoto (ex of the Aislers Set) to the lineup. After releasing a series of singles and EPs in 2008 and 2009, the group's third album, Broken Bow, arrived in late 2010 on Bons Mots Records. The album was also given a U.K. release by the Where It's at Is Where You Are label. The group returned in early 2012 with the Sun is Sunk EP. ~ Tim Sendra, Rovi
