Biography
Denver Gerrard had his brief moment in the spotlight of stardom in British rock as one half of the Warm Sounds, the duo that he formed with Barry Husband in 1967. They hit number 27 on the U.K. charts with Birds and Bees, a trippy psychedelic pop number released by Decca Records' Deram Records imprint. The song helped herald the Summer of Love in 1967 London and also was also a big underground hit at the time, topping some pirate radio charts. That was their last success, and the duo split in 1968 after briefly sojourning to Andrew Oldham's Immediate Records label. He later re-emerged as Denny Gerrard in 1970 on a solo album, Sinister Morning, issued on Decca Records' mid-priced Nova Records line, backed by the four members of the underground folk-rock band High Tide. ~ Bruce Eder, Rovi
