Born in Zurich, Switzerland, to Italian parents, he started getting into house music during the '90s, looking up to American producers such as David Morales and Armand Van Helden, as well as British DJs like Carl Cox. Initially active as a DJ, he began releasing house tracks near the end of the decade, often in collaboration with Leon Klein, on labels such as Energetic Records and Club Control. EDX released several mix CDs on Energetic (both solo and with Klein), usually as part of the Evolution and Energy series. Around 2005, EDX went on a brief hiatus, but he returned in 2007, shifting to more of a progressive house sound, rather than more traditional house. He remixed tracks by Dubfire, Deadmau5, and Armin van Buuren, and he released numerous singles on PinkStar and Toolroom Records, among other labels. He launched a popular radio show/podcast titled No Xcuses, and held a residency at Ibiza superclub Space in 2011. Armada released EDX's double mix CD No Xcuses - The Violet Edition in 2011. The following year, EDX's debut full-length, On the Edge, was released, followed two years later by a remix album. Subsequent singles appeared on disco:wax and Spinnin' Records, and EDX remixed songs by Robin Schulz, Sam Feldt, and Lika Morgan.
His sophomore set, the appropriately titled Two Decades, landed in 2017. Meanwhile, he continued to deliver remixes, putting his spin on tracks by the likes of Charlie Puth, Janelle Monáe, and David Guetta. In 2019, he issued the singles "Who Cares" and "Off the Grid," which featured Amba Shepherd. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
