Detroit-based RB/contemporary jazz violinist, singer, songwriter, arranger, producer, actress, and model Karen Coleman appeared on numerous recordings, both regional and international. Proficient on both electric and acoustic violin, Coleman found success on her own with the singles Let Me Blow Your Mind and Once You Know How, as well as with Los Angeles RB outfit Zingara, who had a hit in 1980 with the song Love's Calling, featuring James Ingram on lead vocals.
