Biography
On account of his depressing life experiences, Justus League rapper L.E.G.A.C.Y. (an acronym for Life Ends Gradually and Changes You) combines his skillful yet dark lyrics with morose wordplay. The traditional hip-hop influences like Rakim and Big L are evident in his style, but he also cites the similarly bleak songwriting of rock legends Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain as having a deep impact also. The North Carolina MC was inducted into the reputable Justus League collective in 2001. He had already known its chief producer, 9th Wonder, as a co-worker, booking reservations at a Holiday Inn, but both of them did not know that either did rap music. As soon as L.E.G.A.C.Y. joined, he and 9th churned out a number of songs together, some appearing on his 2003 Legsclusives mixtape. Interlaced with themes and excerpts from the 1996 movie #Fight Club, his debut album, Project Mayhem (also a reference from the movie), was released in mid-2005. ~ Cyril Cordor, Rovi
