Biography
Chilean singer/songwriter Jorge González was raised in the bosom of a working class family from San Miguel, one of Santiago's most populated districts. While studying at a local high school, González started sharing his passion for music with classmates and friends. Inspired by the British punk rock scene, Jorge González soon got involved in a band called los Vinchucas, performing for the first time at his school in 1982. After meeting Carlos Fonseca, a music student at Universidad de Chile, González agreed to have him as a manager. By that time, the band's name was changed to los Prisioneros. When the group broke up in December of 1991, the musician concentrated on his solo career, debuting in 1993 with a self-titled album, getting the song Mi Casa en el Arbol climbing on local charts. That record was followed in 1994 by an experimental album called El Futuro Se Fue. In 1999, Jorge González's Mi Destino was released. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
