Austin, TX's the Onlys formed in 1995 when bassist Steven Bonn started playing with drummer Jason Lavalle, vocalist/guitarist/keyboardist Jason Chenoweth, and his brother, vocalist/guitarist Joel. With influences spanning everything from classic rock to country to indie rock, the group worked on refining their sound for a couple of years; when Bonn left the group in 1997, Jason Chenoweth switched to bass and the Onlys became a power trio. That year, they released their debut album, 1300, which they followed in 2000 with Tune the Blue Screen, a collection of old and new material.
