Ombre is the collaboration of ethereal vocalist Julianna Barwick and eccentric electronic producer/musician Helado Negro. After Negro discovered Barwick's music via MySpace in 2009, the two felt a creative connection and embarked on a joint tour a year later. Not yet acquainted, Barwick and Negro bonded on the road, endeavoring to expand their cooperative relationship to the studio. They began recording as Ombre in summer 2010, combining Barwick's captivating harmonies (and showing off multi-instrumentalist skills not revealed in her solo work) with Negro's summery ambience, and releasing the album Believe You Me for the Asthmatic Kitty label two years later. ~ Chrysta Cherrie, Rovi
