Biography
Combining his interests in electronic dance music, hip-hop, and indie rock, Yoshi Flower is the eclectic project of Josh Smith. He followed the 2018 mixtape American Raver with 2019's Peer Pleasure and I Will Not Let My Love Go to Waste before returning with a string of singles in 2021, including "Faking Sleep."

Formerly of Detroit duo Gosh Pith with Josh Freed, Josh Smith made his debut as Yoshi Flower in March 2018 with "Movies," an electro-pop song that imagines his love interest as the star of his film. The same week, Elohim released the single "Panic Attacks" featuring Yoshi Flower. It kicked off a string of dates in support of Elohim's North American tour. Striking a deal with Interscope, Yoshi Flower's debut mixtape, American Raver, saw release in October 2018. Following a North American tour with rapper Skizzy Mars, another mixtape, Peer Pleasure, followed in June 2019, with I Will Not Let My Love Go to Waste arriving in December.

After starting work on a debut album in 2020, Yoshi Flower returned in 2021 with singles including "Faking Sleep" (b/w a cover of the Cure's "Boys Don't Cry") and "Slow Dance/I Don't Wanna Do This Anymore." ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
