A dance super duo, Kx5 is the collaborative project of prominent electronic DJ/producers Kaskade and deadmau5. They debuted in 2022 with the single "Escape."

Longtime associates Ryan Gary Raddon (aka Kaskade) and Joel Thomas Zimmerman (aka deadmau5) initially came together in 2008, producing the single "I Remember" (featuring vocalist Haley Gibby). The song proved a club hit, topping Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart and hitting number three on the U.K. dance charts. The two remained friendly, pairing several more times over the years on various projects, including 2016's "Beneath with Me" (featuring Skylar Grey). In March 2022, they officially formed the duo Kx5, heralding the collaboration with the single "Escape" (featuring British singer/songwriter Hayla).
