The Rogers Sisters spent their formative years honing their talents wherever they could, eventually catching the ear of legendary producer/songwriter T-Bone Burnett. Burnett was so impressed that he created a label (Beladroit) for the sole purpose of releasing the Rogers’ eponymous debut. Recorded with a team of iconic Nashville session players on period '50s equipment, Secret Sisters arrived on October 12, 2010. The duo also released a single on Jack White's Third Man Records, which featured My Morning Jacket's Carl Broemel on pedal steel and White on guitar. Burnett also produced the sisters' second album, 2014's Put Your Needle Down, updating the sound by a decade or so with folky garage rock and girl group touches. In 2017, the sisters issued their acclaimed third LP, the Brandi Carlile-produced You Don't Own Me Anymore, a marvel of quiet grandeur and steely Southern pragmatism. Carlile returned to the producer's chair for the duo's fourth effort, 2020's Saturn Return. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
