Born and raised in Vancouver to Serbian parents, Gavanski relocated to Montreal to attend university. While pursuing a career in acting and film, she began writing songs on a guitar she inherited through a breakup. After working with her father as a production assistant on a horror film in the Laurentian Mountains of southern Quebec, she earned enough money to devote herself more fully to her music and eventually emerged in 2019 with the austere Spring Demos EP. Signing with U.K. label Full Time Hobby, she released the "Catch/Off Again" 7" single in November of that year, followed in early 2020 by her full-length debut, Yesterday Is Gone.
Following a pause in touring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she eventually returned to the road as an opener for Porridge Radio in late 2021. After demo'ing songs on a toy Casiotone, she tracked her next album, When It Comes, with her partner and co-producer James Howard. It arrived on Full Time Hobby in April 2022. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
