Pianist and drummer Dave Alexander is both an effective vocalist and outstanding instrumentalist, who's best known for many festival and club appearances, and his Arhoolie albums. Also known as Omar Hakim Khayyam, Alexander's an articulate writer and advocate for the blues and African-American music. He's written several articles for Living Blues.
