Biography
A seasoned rock bassist who is proficient in multiple genres including heavy metal, jazz fusion, and funk, Marco Mendoza handles bass duties for Aussie/American hard rockers Dead Daisies and the re-formed lineup of Thin Lizzy -- he is also an ex-member of Thin Lizzy offshoot Black Star Riders. A native of San Diego, California, Mendoza did time with a number of acts (Black Sabbath's Bill Ward, Alias, and Blue Murder) before teaming up with John Sykes, Scott Gorham, Darren Wharton, and Brian Downey in 1994 for a rebooted version of stalwart classic rockers Thin Lizzy. He released his debut solo LP, Live for Tomorrow, in 2007 via Frontiers Records, with two more solo offerings, Casa Mendoza and Viva La Rock arriving in 2010 and 2018, respectively. In addition to Dead Daisies, Thin Lizzy, and his solo work, Mendoza has shared the stage and studio with a host of other high-profile artists, including Ted Nugent, Soul SirkUS, and Whitesnake. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
