James Christian
Biography
New York-based house artist James Christian made a name for himself in the '90s, spinning at many of New York's most celebrated clubs, such as Limelight and Vinyl, and also produced tracks for several of the city's most noteworthy house labels, such as Nervous and Sorted. While growing up in Brooklyn, Christian was exposed to dance music at an early age, beginning with his mother's Motown collection. In 1992, he began a two-year residency at Limelight, one of New York's most successful and storied clubs at the time. Since then, his career has only moved forward, both in terms of DJing and producing. By 1995, Christian had begun releasing CDs in addition to vinyl singles. He also affiliated himself with the Caffeine crew in New York, yet another claim to fame. In 2002, he teamed up with New York-based Stuck on Earth production company for House Theory, a mix album released by Topaz Records that featured tracks from Strictly Rhythm, Dust Traxx, Blinded, and Ovum, some of the most impressive house labels in the U.S. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
