Biography
Grasshopper are a Cantopop trio from Hong Kong that emerged to great success in the late '80s and 1990s. Founded in 1985, the trio is comprised of Edmond So (born May 3, 1966), Calvin Choy (January 3, 1965), and Remus Choy (February 6, 1967). They established themselves at the New Talent Singing Awards and were subsequently offered a recording contract with PolyGram Records in 1987. Grasshopper released their debut album in 1988, and their second album arrived later that same year. In 1990 they crossed over to the Taiwanese music market and remained active throughout much of the decade. Though they took a break from the music industry after years of success, they never broke up and have continued to reunited periodically over time. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
