Biography
The Cup of Tea breakbeat act Jaz Klash is a collaboration between the Bristol trip-hop duo More Rockers and American hip-hop producer the Angel. Born in Brooklyn, the Angel was living in Los Angeles by the early '90s, when she began working for Delicious Vinyl. She worked on remixing for the Pharcyde, Brand New Heavies, Spearhead and Donald Byrd, also composing music for soundtracks (Gridlock'd, Playing God). After More Rockers' Rob Smith and Peter D remixed her track "Step into the Light" in 1995, the trio got together at the suggestion of More Rockers' managaer Simon Goffe. The one-off meeting produced material for the 1997 full-length Thru the Haze, recorded with keyboard help from Jacky Terrasson and Brian Auger. the Angel later returned stateside to work on her own projects, Supa Crucial and 60 Channels. ~ John Bush, Rovi
