Biography
Hal Horowitz worked at WITR, Rochester, NY, for a decade as the music and program director and co-hosted a weekly blues show, Bad Dog Blues, for five years. During that time he interviewed a diverse array of national blues artists. He had his own eclectic weekly radio show from 1980 until 1995, and he was voted DJ of the Year in 1987. As Senior Music Editor for Atlanta Press from 1997-2000, he wrote weekly interviews, reviews, and features on a wide variety of musicians and coordinated the publication's music coverage. He penned a weekly column, "Blues Roots and Branches," for poets, artists, and madmen, which focused attention on the blues, country, folk, rockabilly, and roots rock bands who lived in and toured through Atlanta. Horowitz' work has also appeared in Blues Revue, Creative Loafing, Music Monitor, Insite, 99Xpress, and Ink 19. ~ Hal Horowitz, Rovi
