Biography
Soho 69 was a rock group formed by lead singer and bassist Andy Curran in the late '80s. Other members of the band included guitarists Michael Borkosky and Simon Brierley, and drummer Glenn Milchem. When Milchem called it quits with Soho 69, drummer Eddie Zeeman was brought in to fill the empty spot. The Canadian band landed their first break with Alert Records in 1990. The label signed the group, but listed it under their frontman's name, Andy Curran, as a solo act. The Soho 69 part wasn't added until 1993.

During the group's lifetime there were only a few full-length recordings completed, and fans needed to keep up with the group's changeable name to find them. Their first album was recorded in 1990 and was simply titled Andy Curran. The debut carried a couple of tracks that brought in good press and helped Curran earn a nomination for Best Hard Rock Album, and a win as Most Promising Vocalist at the Juno Awards.

Three years after the release of that first album, a sophomore offering finally showed up, Scatterbrain, released under the Hypnotic Records label by Andy Curran Soho 69. The guys seemed to fade away for about five years, then reappeared on the market in 1998 as Caramel to release a self-titled album under their new name. Borkosky didn't join the old gang this time, so a new guitarist was brought in, Virginia Storey. ~ Charlotte Dillon, Rovi
