Born Sadiq Onifade in Lagas, WurlD moved to the U.S. in his teens and studied at Georgia State University in Atlanta. During this time, he began to flourish creatively and, in 2012, released his first single, "Beyond Our Dreams," followed in 2013 by his first EP, Evolution. Over the next few years, he began to rack up credits working with artists like Mario and BK Brasco. He even landed a hit in Poland with 2015's "Follow You," a collaboration with Polish DJ Gromee. He began to gain notice with 2016's "Show You Off," a collaboration with Major Lazer's Walshy Fire and Nigerian producer Shizzi. 2019 proved to be a banner year for WurlD with the release of his own Love Is Contagious EP, followed by the joint I Love Girls with Trobul EP he made with Sarz. He also co-wrote Davido's Chris Brown-assisted hit "Blow My Mind."
Heading into the next decade, WurlD remained prolific, landing a streaming hit with "Ghost Town" from his 2020 EP, Afrosoul. Finally in 2022, he delivered his first full-length album, My WorlD with U. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
