Biography
Formed by Los Angeles-based first-generation Mexican-Americans Sergio Garcia and Francisco Romo, Skellism first came to prominence via their remix of DVBBS and Tony Junior's Immortal in 2014. Receiving support from the likes of Steve Aoki and Carnage, the remix was a huge success, and the duo followed up by teaming with Andreas Fresko for a remix of Dimitri Vegas Like Mike's The Hum. With DJ support continuing, Skellism dropped their debut single, End of the Day (which featured guest vocals from Hype Turner), in 2015. With their unique mix of hardstyle, EDM, and trap, Skellism became a sought-after act, with appearances at festivals in the U.S. and also a trip to Australia for the Sydney leg of the hardstyle festival Defqon 1. The duo released a handful of singles, including Insanity, Jungle Warrior, and the Junkie Kid collaboration TIHS, in 2016. Continuing to play live dates throughout the year, Skellism teased the release of their massive-sounding collaboration with Lil Jon and Terror Bass, In the Pit. Finally seeing the light of day in 2017, the single had become an instant hit at festivals and club nights, inciting crowds into a mosh-pit frenzy when dropped. ~ Rich Wilson, Rovi
