Biography
Five's Company stood at the mid-point of the British Invasion, forming in 1964 and sticking around long enough to make a prog-concept album in 1968. Five college students formed the band in King's Road, Chelsea in 1964, signing with Pye the following year. In 1966, they put out three singles, but none of them went anywhere. The band split in 1967, but several members reunited in 1968 to make The Ballad of Fred the Pixie. That record, along with the Pye singles and demos, showed up on Cherry Red/Grapefruit's 2017 collection Friends and Mirrors: The Complete Recordings 1964-1968. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
