Biography
Alternative CCM quartet Mayfair Laundry emerged in the late 1990s with a sound rooted in the punk and ska revivals of the era. Formed in Los Angeles in 1996 by longtime friends and musical collaborators Frank Sandoval (guitar), Paul Dexter (bass), and David Snow (drums), the band grew to a quartet with the arrival of vocalist Shannon Woolner. Mayfair Laundry issued its debut album, Scrub, in 1998. Woolner left the fold the following year and was replaced by Kim Dexter, who made her studio debut on 1999's New and Improved. The bandmembers went their separate ways shortly after that, venturing into myriad solo efforts, studio sessions, and Grammy and Dove Award-nominated production work. Mayfair Laundry reconvened in 2022 with a guitar-forward punk-pop sound, which they put to good use on their long-awaited third long-player, Re. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
