Biography
Codó was a highly gifted self-taught violão (guitar) player. His genuine talent, sharpened by years of gafieira playing, was heavily influenced by jazz and he was an accomplished improviser. As a symptom of his lack of articulation, he only came to record six albums, which remained as classics of the instrumental violão. His first album was recorded when he was 50. His first composition was Minha Primeira Valsa (1930). ~ Alvaro Neder, Rovi
