Biography
Port Blue is an instrumental, ambient recording project by Minnesota-based musician Adam Young. Young began using the Port Blue name around the same time as his better-known Owl City project was first gaining popularity in 2007. The largely electronic-based Port Blue songs are described by Young as being "dreamscapes" and he considers them to be the music of "elevators, hotel lobbies, airports, museums, and restaurants inside my head." He issued his first full-length album, Airship, in 2007, followed by the Albatross EP in 2008. Much of Young's Port Blue output has been uploaded in the form of singles and EPs to sites like SoundCloud and has not received an official release. Such was the case with his 2013 EP The Pacific. ~ Timothy Monger, Rovi
