Pleasurecrush
Biography
In many ways pleasurecrush fit the mold of hundreds of other bands all across America who employ volume and agression in the guitar angst known as, loud rock. What makes pleasurecrush unique is the delivery of the music with a ferocious groove, insightful lyrical visualization, true melodies and the type of flighty time signatures that could cause a metronome to implode. They bring a fresh feel to what was fast becoming a genre that had exhausted it's boundaries. The members of pleasurecrush are as unique as their music, because as well as being exceptional musicians their day jobs are what all parents dream of for their offspring. Jeff Alexander, the drummer is a petroleum engineer by day. Frank Howd, the guitarist for pleasurecrush is a physical therapist by day. The bassist for pleasurecrush, Desmond McCaffrey, is a high school history teacher by day. Cheex, the other guitarist and, Scott D'Amato, the lead vocalist are computer wizards for the Aetna insurance conglomerate. The band was based out of Hartford Conn. for the convenience of marketing purposes as much as for anything else. In 1998 pleasurecrush released their debut album, Seed, produced and recorded with the aid and expertise of Robert Scovill who has worked with Rush, Def Leppard and Tom Petty. They recorded the album at Robert Scovill's studio in Phoenix Arizona. In 1998 they were being courted by Q-Prime, a major West Coast management company which has worked with, among others, Tom Petty and Metallica. ~ Larry Belanger, Rovi
