Chinx Drugz
Biography
Coming up via French Montana's Coke Boys posse, Queens rapper Chinx Drugz launched his solo career in earnest in 2013 with the album I'll Take It from Here. Rapping in his teen years with fellow high-school student and good friend Stack Bundles, Chinx would keep in contact with his friend as Stack joined Jim Jones' Byrd Gang and became a frequent collaborator with Max B. Max became fast friends with Chinx as well and introduced him to French Montana, who asked Chinx to join the Coke Boys in 2009. Chinx began issuing mixtapes that same year, beginning with Hurry Up and Die: Get Ya Casket On, then 2011 saw him release Cocaine Riot with various members of the Coke Boys on board, while the crew's first mixtape, Coke Boys 2, landed that same year. The mixtape Coke Boys 3 arrived a year later with guest shots from Rick Ross, Wale, and Akon that displayed how popular the crew had become, while Chinx's own Cocaine Riot 2 mixtape featured Wale, Montana, and Action Bronson, along with the successful street single "I'm a Coke Boy." A remix of the cut with Ross, Montana, and Diddy appeared in 2013 and landed on Chinx's official debut, I'll Take It from Here, that same year. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
