Biography
A diverse, quirky rapper able to share the stage with both indie revolutionaries Hadouken! and hip-hop legend Erick Sermon, Master Shortie came on the U.K. hip-hop scene in 2008 with the throwback anthem “Rope Chain.” Raised in South London, Shortie got his D.I.Y. attitude from his father, who ran a jazz club in East London. Years of shopping his music around to labels resulted in numerous offers, but surrendering creative control to one of the majors was something the rapper refused to do. After Shortie decided to go it alone, “Rope Chain” was released on his own Odd Man Out in 2008 with the club hit “Dance Like a White Boy” appearing on the label in 2009. That same year he released the nostalgic track “Bringing It Back” plus his debut album, A.D.H.D. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi
