Junglepussy was born Shayna McHayle in Brooklyn in 1991. She was active in music as early as her high school days when she was rapping as part of a group called Primp. At age 21, McHayle released the song "Cream Team," her first music under the Junglepussy moniker. The song and several subsequent tracks drew immediate attention, eventually catching the ear of stars like Lil Kim and Erykah Badu. In 2014, Junglepussy released her first mixtape, Satisfaction Guaranteed, and followed it the next year with debut studio album Pregnant with Success, both of which she released independently without label support. Her notoriety also grew from multiple appearances as a featured guest on other artists' tracks, including spots on songs from Lion Babe, Nadia Rose, and Le1f. Second studio album JP3 arrived in 2018 and featured cameos from Gangsta Boo and Rico Love. Two years later, Junglepussy returned with JP4, this time working with the Jagjaguwar label offshoot Friends Of for the album's release. ~ Fred Thomas, Rovi
