Flores was introduced to electronic music as a teenager during the early 1990s. He spent many years DJ'ing at warehouse raves and events around Southern California, then began making his own music during the mid-2000s. Debuting on the Monoïd label in 2005 with the EP Audioinjection, he began releasing records as Audio Injection, including several releases on Droid Recordings. Flores was a resident DJ at the Interface event series, along with Droid's founders Drumcell and Raíz, and he collaborated with both artists on tracks. Additionally, Flores produced hardcore as Broken Rules, and released records on Lenny Dee's Industrial Strength/IST Records.
Flores began using the name Truncate in 2011, with a focus on "deep, raw techno." He released a series of stripped-down white-label singles on his eponymous label as well as records with Raíz, Developer, and John Tejada on labels like Droid and Modularz. Truncate made a few appearances on Modeselektor's 50Weapons imprint, including 2014's Pressurize EP and a 2015 split single with Benjamin Damage. "Submission," a collaboration with Jimmy Edgar, was released on the latter's Ultramajic label. Flores collaborated with Ben Sims as Assailants, releasing the Chase Sequences EP in 2018. He also released several records on James Ruskin's Blueprint, collaborating with the label owner on 2021's Sketch, and similarly worked with Catz N' Dogz, issuing music on their Pets Recordings. Truncate appeared on Token in 2021 with the EP DTW 2 LAX and collaborated with Josh Wink on his label Ovum, releasing "Be Aware." In addition to the EPs Basal and The Drill on his own label, Truncate's 2022 releases included The Heights EP and Intact on CLR (both with Drumcell and Chris Liebing) and another Wink collaboration, "Let Go." ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
