Biography
A Spanish composer of songs and piano minatures whose music shares a great deal stylistically with Satie's, but with a deep Andalusian feel and more complex harmonies, especially in the moving Paisajes (1942-1960). Mompou also revived the use of notation without bar lines, reaching back to the style of mensural notation in pre-Renaissance music. ~ Blue Gene Tyranny, Rovi
