Claudio Narea
Biography
Claudio Narea's interest for music was growing while listening to rock and participating in a high school band at Santiago de Chile. Soon the young guitarist, along with singer/bassist Jorge González and drummer Miguel Tapia, formed los Prisioneros, becoming one of the most popular rock acts in Chilean history. When the band broke up in the early '90s, Claudio Narea started a group called Profetas y Frenéticos, signing up to local label Alerce and releasing a self-titled album and Nuevo Orden in 1992. Due to the lack of sales of his second record, Profetas y Frenéticos finally disbanded. During the following years Narea participated in a project called Escuelas de Rock, teaching how to play guitar to a new generation of enthusiastic musicians, also hosting a radio show called Se Remata El Siglo (Auctioning the Century). In the year 2000, an opportunity to start all over again came. Compiling songs composed from 1993 to 1997, Claudio Narea's first solo album was released, getting its track Amar Es Complicado climbing on local charts. ~ Drago Bonacich, Rovi
