Yoome
Biography
Experimental indie-electronica trio Yoome began at the home of Chicago-based producer/DJ/MC Tony Trimm (born Anthony Kim), where he and friend/rapper Serengeti (born David Cohn) convened as both were dealing with relationship problems. With Trimm handling production and Serengeti on the mike, the two crafted half-a-dozen songs before they brought in New Zealand transplant and singer Renee-Louise Carafice. Calling themselves Yoome, they group recorded an album's worth of lo-fi, almost delicate, indie electronica tracks that featured both vocalists equally, telling different sides of the same, or similar, stories. The full-length, The Boredom of Me, was then released in October 2008 on Audio8, a Chicago-based label known for its experimental roster, and home to both Trimm and Serengeti and many of their various side projects. ~ Marisa Brown, Rovi
