Biography
Paul Barrere was a guitarist and singer/songwriter who joined the celebrated cult band Little Feat for the recording of its fourth album, Feats Don't Fail Me Now (1974). Barrere stayed with the group, taking an increasing role in singing, playing, and writing, along with keyboard player Bill Payne, as bandleader Lowell George slowly retreated, until the group fragmented following George's death in 1979. Barrere then played sessions and recorded solo in the '80s until the re-formation of Little Feat in 1988. Health problems interrupted his touring schedule in the 2010s, including bouts with liver cancer and Hepatitis C, and he died on October 26, 2019 at the age of 71. ~ William Ruhlmann, Rovi
