TYSM
Biography
Discovered by producer Felix Snow (who has worked with Kiiara, SZA, Icona Pop, and Terror Jr), singer TYSM makes stripped-down yet catchy electropop. Born Chelsea Davenport, TYSM grew up in Seguin, Texas, where she began singing in local musical theater productions. Her studies took her to San Antonio's North East School of the Arts, Boston's Emerson College, and Emerson's Los Angeles program. While working as a waitress, TYSM -- which stands for "thank you so much," an expression of her gratitude for being able to create -- met Snow at the Rose Bowl. He asked her to sing for him, and he and his EFFESS label partner, David Singer-Vine, decided to work with her. TYSM took inspiration from a bad breakup to write her debut single, "Honeymoon Phase," a frothy, minimalistic track that arrived in early 2017 and racked up hundreds of thousands of online plays within its first week of release. Later that year, she returned with the even more delicate track "Wraith." ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
