Biography
Essentially a collaborative solo enterprise for songwriter and singer Felix Walworth, Told Slant is an introspective indie rock project based in Brooklyn. Known for their intimate lyrics and mercurial D.I.Y. sound, they have released a trio of albums including 2020's Point the Flashlight and Walk.

A multi-instrumentalist who focuses on drums, Walworth grew up in a musical environment with father Danny Walworth, who drummed alongside guitarist Thurston Moore in the pre-Sonic Youth group the Coachmen. The younger drummer started Told Slant as an undergraduate at Bard College. Walworth's intimate and delicately off-kilter first LP, Still Water, was self-released in 2012. A founding member of the Epoch -- a New York arts collective that's included similarly songwriter-anchored acts such as Eskimeaux (Gabrielle Smith), Florist (Emily Sprague), and Bellows (Oliver Kalb) -- Walworth toured and recorded on multiple occasions with these and other bands as a full-time musician in the years that followed. Told Slant's sophomore album, Going By, was released by Double Double Whammy and Run for Cover Records in June 2016. After another four-year break, Walworth returned with their dramatic third outing, Point the Flashlight and Walk, in late 2020. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
