Biography
Producer, DJ, and label owner Antoine Garcin operates in the deep end of tech-house. Based in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France, he debuted as Acumen in 2006 with Several Lifes, a four-track digital release on Polytone. The following year, he and occasional co-producer Damien Almira (aka Timid Boy) launched the Time Has Changed label, which quickly added a sublabel, Time Is Now; the two imprints became the primary outlets for Garcin's output. In 2009, his releases gained vocal support from techno innovator Richie Hawtin, who named him best new producer. Garcin responded by maintaining a busy release schedule throughout 2010, a year that saw him release material for Bitten, Leena, Robotronic, and Viva Music, among others. His remix duties intensified as well. After a break from original productions, the first Acumen album, the buoyant My Super Hero, was released digitally on Time Has Changed in August 2012. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
