Desecration, the band and not the concept, date back to 1992 and the cozy town of Newport, Wales. Jones and bandmates were well liked in this community, as can be gleaned from the fact that the police only raided his house once and were kind enough to leave behind recorded material suitable for a demo release. Recorded documentation received an upgrade circa 1998, the Murder in Mind concept album on Copro and the addition of some new guitar manglers.
Somewhere in the new millennium Jones chopped off the connection to Desecration in favor of Amputated UK when the latter combo needed another guitarist. Often credited just as vocalist, Jones has shown dexterity in the face of whatever need is chronic within an ensemble. During the '90s evolution of Desecration he switched to drums at the flick of a wrist when the position was open, a move typical to garage rock as well as punk but nonetheless considered an actual desecration by professional drummers, even within the context of a band named Desecration. More recently Jones has joined Extreme Noise Terror. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, Rovi
