Band from TV
Biography
A supergroup consisting of U.S. television stars who donate their proceeds to charity, the Band from TV was founded by Greg Grunberg, who had roles on Alias and Lost but may be best known as mind-reading cop Matt Parkman from Heroes. A drummer, Grunberg was asked to perform at the House of Blues with other celebrities and enjoyed the experience so much, he got a firmer lineup of friends to play with, including Cashmere Mafia's Bonnie Somerville on vocals; Desperate Housewives' James Denton on guitar; Bob Guiney of The Bachelor and Date My House (and also formerly of the band Fat Amy) on vocals; House's Jesse Spencer on violin and Hugh Laurie on vocals; Chris Kelley, Barry Sarna, John Sarna, Chris Mostert, and bassist Brad Savage complete the band roster. The Band from TV plays frequent dates around the Los Angeles area, and each member donates earnings to the charities of their choice, which include the Pediatric Epilepsy Project, the Conservation Fund, and the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation. In 2008, the group released its first album, Hoggin' the Covers, as a CD/DVD available exclusively from Amazon.com. ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
