Biography
Formed in 1997 after a party at Bruce Springsteen's New Jersey farm, the Sessions band is a loosely knit collective of area musicians that includes members of the Gotham Playboys. The group first appeared as the backing band on Springsteen's cover of Pete Seeger's "We Shall Overcome" for the 1998 tribute album Where Have All the Flowers Gone: The Songs of Pete Seeger. In 2006, Springsteen released an entire collection of Seeger covers called We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions with the group. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
