Biography
Cincinnati DJ Mr. Dibbs is part of 1200 Hobos, a turntablist crew known for their mixtapes, considered more compositional and less overtly dexterous than those of other DJs. Influenced by the first wave of rap and hip-hop culture, Dibbs' decision to become a DJ was cemented by seeing Grandmixer D.ST perform Rockit with Herbie Hancock. His mix style is informed by the hectic song cuts of Midwest radio DJs like Cleveland's Mixmaster Quick and Detroit's Jeff The Wizard Mills. Mr. Dibbs also organizes Skribble Fest, Cincinnati's annual festival heralding the cornerstones of hip-hop: breakdancing, graffiti, rapping, and DJing.
